WASHINGTON, D.C. – Villanova and Duke staged a close scrimmage Saturday afternoon. The teams, which have captured a combined three NCAA national championships since 2015, played a series of controlled scrimmages rather than a regulation 40-minute game.
“This was a great scrimmage for us,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “These are two highly competitive teams.
“Duke’s discipline, execution and size were really impressive. We thank Coach K and Duke for putting this together.”
Villanova opens the 2021-22 regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 vs. Mount St. Mary’s at Finneran Pavilion at 4:30 p.m.
